# Do Not Call Compensation

A personal evidence and case-preparation project for James's unwanted calls and texts.

**Recommendation:** run a small evidence-first pilot before building an unattended agent. Automate preservation, organization, and draft preparation; measure actual recoveries and time spent. A message being unwanted is not enough to establish liability, and a statutory damages ceiling is not an earnings forecast.

**Current state:** research and evidence preparation only. No working importer, classifier, monitoring service, claim valuation, or legal-action agent exists yet. No demands, complaints, or filings have been submitted by this project. Supplied evidence is preserved under ignored `private/`; no private message content is tracked in Git.

Intake now supports a Texas-focused review; user-reported details are stored privately. County is now recorded privately. Next dependencies: relevant residence/contact dates, registration evidence, and a preserved sample of complete conversations. Then review up to 20 candidate threads and prepare at most three case packets.

## Private data

Put actual messages, screenshots, phone numbers, account records, and completed case packets in `private/`, which is ignored by Git. Templates are blank public-safe forms. Gitignore is not encryption: use an encrypted local disk and encrypted backup, and keep this project out of public hosting. Never put real evidence in tests or documentation.

Research checked September 18, 2026. Legal sources must be rechecked for each claim's date and jurisdiction before reliance. This is research and workflow design, not a legal opinion on any particular sender.
